Jakarta, Xweb.biz.id – The police have summoned four members of the Clerics and Activists Defense Team (TPUA) for questioning regarding the allegations of a fake diploma involving Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). The investigation is being handled by Polda Metro Jaya.
Out of the four individuals summoned, three appeared to provide clarification on Thursday (8/5), namely Rustam Effendi, Damai Hari Lubis, and Kurnia Tri Royani. One member, Rizal Fadillah, was unable to attend due to a recent traffic accident.
“Only three TPUA members responded to the summons today. Mr. Rizal Fadillah is still recovering and could not attend the session,” said TPUA member Rahmat Himran in a statement to the media.
The examination, which began at 09.00 WIB, is part of the police’s ongoing investigation into a complaint filed regarding the authenticity of Jokowi’s educational credentials.
Himran added that the TPUA members brought supporting evidence to back up their statements during the clarification session.
“The evidence has been submitted to investigators for further examination,” he confirmed.
The fake diploma allegation against President Jokowi was previously reported to Polda Metro Jaya, prompting investigators to begin a preliminary investigation.
“We’ve received the report, and the case is currently in the in-depth investigation phase,” said Polda Metro Jaya’s Public Relations Head, Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, on April 30, 2025.
Ade Ary added that Jokowi’s report did not name any specific suspect, and that merging it with similar reports from other jurisdictions would require coordination.
In response to the allegations, President Jokowi personally visited Polda Metro Jaya and declared his full cooperation with the investigation. He stated he was ready to hand over his academic diplomas for digital forensic analysis to verify their authenticity.
“If necessary, I’m ready to hand them over,” said Jokowi during his visit to Polda Metro Jaya.
Jokowi emphasized that his actions were intended to clarify misinformation and provide transparency to the public.
“This is to make everything clear and transparent for the public,” he stated.
